TRAFFORD’S Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) will be holding its annual Spring Fair on April 27.

Attractions include a variety of games, crafts, tombolas, prizes and a barbecue.

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the sanctuary and learn about the charity’s work.

Natasha Woest, sanctuary manager at the SAA, said: “Here at the animal shelter, our priority is to care for and rehome every animal that come into our care. “With a limited amount of space and resources, it’s incredibly heartbreaking to have to turn away animals that need rehoming, so we’re really excited by the prospect of increasing our capacity as soon as we raise enough money.”

Amid plans to extend and refurbish the site, the sanctuary has successfully found funding for the building infrastructures, but is looking for businesses and individuals to help fundraise for the internal facilities such as pet pens. The charity has successfully rehomed more than 123 dogs, 1,058 cats and 341 rabbits over the past five years.

In addition to funding and appealing to those seeking to adopt pets, the charity is always on the lookout for volunteers to help with a range of tasks such as administration, accounts and maintenance.

Natasha added: “Whether you’re an animal lover or not, I’d absolutely love to see some new faces this year supporting a fantastic local charity, so please come along to the Spring Fair for a day full of fundraising, food and plenty of fun.”
