CELEBRITIES and former players will once again be lacing up their football boots to take part in a charity football match to raise funds for the Moore Foundation.

The event is returning to Altrincham Football Football Club for the second year running and will see former players including Clayton Blackmore, Danny Higginbotham and Eric Nixon take on the star-studded celebrity team featuring Hollyoaks star Keith Rice and former Apprentice candidate Neil Clough, who lives in Hale.

Popstar Anthony Kavanagh will be performing and former Manchester United stadium announcer Alan Keegan will also be returning to compere the event and help keep the crowd entertained.

Nigel Garner, chairman of the Moore Foundation said: “There’s going to be a real family fun atmosphere.”

The Moore Foundation is in its ninth year and provides financial and practical relief to local children’s charities and worthy causes.

The match is taking place on Sunday, May 11 from midday with kick off at 1pm with all money raised going directly to the beneficiaries of the charity.

Tickets can be bought at the gate and are priced at £5 per adult and £2.50 per child.
