PEEL and CPUK, the companies behind the new Partington shopping centre, have signed the Partington Pledge, launched last April, helping young people into work.

The pledge, led by Trafford Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)and signed by 19 companies, has provided jobs for 38 residents.

Colin Billingsley from the DWP said it was great to have ‘another fantastic employer on board’.

Trafford Council leader, Cllr Sean Anstee, said he was ‘delighted’ to give young people ‘invaluable experience in the construction industry’.

Mason Gamble, who has been taken on as an on-site engineers assistant, is its latest success story.

He said: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity by CPUK Ltd to take the first steps in developing my career”.
