A HOST of celebrities have signed up to take part in this year’s Bupa Great Manchester Run, in support of The Christie.

BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull, actress and singer Tricia Penrose, X Factor star Misha B and Joy Division and New Order’s Peter Hook, have all pledged their support in the popular 10k event, which takes place on May 18.

Tricia, who is best known for her role as Gina Ward in ITV’s Heartbeat, said: “I’ll be forever indebted to The Christie – they saved my mum’s life after she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010.

“That’s why I wanted to take part in the run this year and hope my efforts can do a little to show how grateful our whole family is.”

People wanting to take part can still sign up by visiting greatrun.org and selecting ‘The Christie’ as their charity of choice, or by contacting a member of The Christie team on 0161 446 3400.
