RECYCLE for Greater Manchester is encouraging people to recycle more and donate unusable items this spring.
As part of the scheme, the organisation will be increasing opening hours of its 20 recycling centres –most will be open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, including Bank Holidays.
The centres accept 23 types of materials – last year, 462 large electrical appliances and 9,847 items of furniture were donated.
Neil Swannock, chairman of Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority, said: “As well as recycling at home, residents can recycle even more at one of our 20 recycling centres which accept a wide range of materials.”
