YOUNGSTERS at Wellgreen Primary in Hale are backing efforts to restore Halecroft Park to its former glory.

Residents and businesses are also helping the recently formed Friends of Halecroft Park group to return the park to its previous prize winning level.

And pupils from neighbouring Wellgreen Primary pitched in when they visited Halecroft Park to plant poppy seeds.

Four flower beds have been sown with hundreds of poppy seeds to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.
