ROBBERS threatened a shop assistant with hammers during a raid in Urmston.

At around 8.15pm on March 16, two men entered Bargain Booze on Flixton Road, demanding money from the till and a pack of cigarettes each.

The shop assistant handed over £217 in cash and 40 cigarettes before the offenders made off in an unknown direction.

Both men were wearing black face coverings, black jackets, black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and black trainers and spoke with local accents.

Det Con Stuart Brown said: "This was a deeply distressing incident for the shop assistant, who was threatened with violence if he did not comply to the attackers' demands.

"We believe the offenders live locally and have attached a picture of one of them in the hope that someone will recognise him.

"If you believe you know who the offenders are, or you recognise the man in the photograph, please contact us."
