A CHARITY giving evening was held by Cheshire Freemasons at their Timperley base.

Representatives of 13 charities were invited to Altrincham Masonic Hall, Clay Lane, on March 10.

The charities told the audience about their organisations and how donations would be used.

They were then presented with cheques from the Cheshire Freemasons charity totalling £22,951 - some were also presented totalling £15,549.

The Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire's Cheshire Community Foundation, which was represented by Alison Tansey, will receive £10,000 per year for three years, and will work with the Cheshire Freemasons Charity to support a number of charities.

The recipients were presented with their cheques by Max Leese and Dr Arthur Birch, who are assistant grand masters and Keith Rogerson representing Royal Arch Masonry.
