THE Prince’s Trust Trafford Team opened its ‘Santa’s Store’ at Timperley Community Centre last week.

The team – which is made up of 13 16-25 year olds – stripped walls, painted and generally revamped the look of the forgotten rooms in the centre’s attic, so that parents collecting toys for their children will now be able to make a selection just as they would in a toy store.

Tim Dibble, Prince’s Trust Trafford team manager, said: “The team selected their project after visiting the centre and seeing how the people of Trafford had responded to support parents and families from the Trafford area that were less fortunate than others and who would otherwise be without presents for their children at Christmas.”

The team, which is based at Stretford Fire Station, completed the project as part of their 12-week personal development programme, which is delivered by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS).
