318 SQUADRON Air Training Corps, based at Sale, is holding an open day between 11am and 3pm on March 29.
The squadron is based at the very end of the Eastway extension in Sale just off Walton Road near to Eastway. The Air Training Corps is open to boys and girls from the age of 13.
Activities range from flying, gliding, camping and map reading with field craft. The squadron annually visits Belgium and France to commemorate the fallen soldiers of World War 1 where they also parade at the Menin Gate in Ypres watched by thousands of public who have travelled from all over the world to participate.
Recently the squadron formed an alliance with the City of Gdansk in Poland.Cadets have visited the city and have taken part in a commemorative parade at Westerplatte, where they met the Mayor of Gdansk and the Polish Prime Minister.
