STRETFORD and Urmston MP Kate Green, is urging people to have their say regarding the future of Urmston Crown Post Office.

Following last year’s news that the Post Office was looking for a new retail partner, Ms Green has learnt that there are now proposals to move Urmston Crown Post Office from its current site on Higher Road to a new unit on Flixton Road.

The new post office will be situated in an independent newsagents.

Post Office has launched a consultation period which will run until April 25.

Ms Green said: “Local people want firm guarantees that their post office services will be protected, that expert staff will be on hand, that all the services they need will be available, and that there won’t be a deterioration in service quality.

“I urge local people to respond to the consultation to make sure their views are heard.”
