THE Chairman of Altrincham Chamber of Commerce has completed the Tokyo Narathon as part of his six World Marathon Majors.

Tony Collier finished his fifth marathon on February 23 along with four other runners from the Styal Running Club, raising money for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).

Having completed marathons in Boston, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Tokyo, Tony only has one more to do in London on April 13 to officially complete his World Marathon Majors.

Tony said: “When I set out to run the five World Marathon Majors to raise funds for CAFT, I didn’t expect to have to travel half way round the world to complete one of them.

“However, when Tokyo was added to the majors in November 2012, it became a must-do race.”

Tony finished the marathon in 3.24.32, his second fastest marathon and once he completes the London marathon, he can claim the World Marathon Majors six star certificate of which only 37 runners across the world had achieved prior to Tokyo 2014.

Tony has raised £5,000 for CAFT in the process to date.
