PLANS to install a disabled access lift to a Stretford youth centre have been permitted.
According to Trafford Council’s planning committee, the proposal at the youth centre on Cavendish Road, Stretford, was considered acceptable as there were no policies within the Trafford Core Strategy that went against the development for a lift.
The planning report revealed that concerns were raised by a neighbouring resident regarding car parking pressures in the surrounding area. However, the proposed extension wouldn’t result in the loss of car parking and wouldn’t provide additional floor space at the youth centre that would generate the need for additional parking.
The planning committee agreed to grant the application.
