THE Players of Sale are planning a First World War show entitled Keep the Home Fires Burning. It is about the women who are left behind.

It will be performed on May 16 and 17.

The group needs more singers to act as a street chorus and is appealing to Messenger readers to join them at St Francis Church Hall, Budworth Road, Sale Moor on Monday, March 3 at 7.30.

The show has been written by Arnold Ashbrook, a Sale furniture retailer.

Arnold said: “We are very relaxed and will welcome new singers with open arms.”
