A CREATIVE youth group set up by a number of Sale High School students is holding auditions for a musical production of Hansel and Gretel, writes Tom Dyson.

The group, ‘Only Youth Productions’, was set up to use theatre as a way of engaging with the local community, and auditions for the fairytale characters are starting in March, with the show commencing in June.

The team is made up of gifted and talented students who all have a connection between their subject and their specific job with ‘Only Youth Productions’.

Nick Brown, one of the leaders and director behind the artistic creation, has welcomed the initiative and hopes for bigger and better things to come.

The 15-year-old said: “We have all got an interest in theatre and we wanted to set up this group as a tool for locals to get involved and meet people in the industry.”

Auditions are being held on Tuesday, March 18 4.30pm-6.30pm at Sale High School for people aged between eight and 16.
