PEOPLE are being invited to have their are being invited to get involved in a project that will shape the future of a historic area of Trafford.

People are being asked to air their views on the council’s draft Altrincham Strategy which aims to create ‘one of the best market towns.’ A consultation period runs until April 13 and people can get involved in one of three ways.

Either by filling in the questionnaire on Trafford Council’s website at trafford.gov.uk or by picking up a questionnaire at the Altrincham Town Team office at 12-14 Shaws Road, Altrincham.

Another way to get involved is by emailing suggestions to altrinchamstrategy@trafford.gov.uk.

Cllr Michael Hyman, Executive Member for Economic Growth and Prosperity said: “The successful implementation of the Altrincham Strategy will help secure the transformation of Altrincham Town Centre. The delivery of significant regeneration in the town centre will create a thriving and successful Modern Market Town. The strategy will be delivered through Altrincham Forward, our public private partnership which is working to regenerate the town."

The vision for Altrincham is to create a place that will have its ‘own distinctive identity and be a place people can be proud of. The town centre will be an aspirational place with a wide variety of shops, cafes, bars restaurants, theatres, leisure, cultural and sports facilities alongside a quality residential offer.’
