MEMBERS of the Stretford Slimming World group are to take part in a sponsored slim to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The 130 slimmers, who visit Trafford Social Club and Gorse Hill Methodist Church every week for their classes, are getting involved in the national ‘Slim for Good’ campaign which starts on February 24 and runs for six weeks.
The aim is to lose weight and improve health while raising money for a good cause in the area.
Steve Mosby, who runs the group and has lost five and a half stone, hopes the sponsored slim will give the group the lift they need.
He said: “When it’s a cause close to your heart, like Cancer Research UK is for so many of us in the Stretford groups, it’s even more of a push.
