LABOUR Party members in Wythenshawe and Sale East today selected Mike Kane to be Labour’s Parliamentary candidate in the by-election on February 13.

Mr Kane said: “I am honoured to have been chosen as Labour’s candidate to represent the people of Wythenshawe and Sale East.

“Just like Paul Goggins before me, I will stand up for the people of Wythenshawe and Sale East. Paul worked tirelessly for this area, and I will continue his legacy and work.

“There is a cost-of-living crisis and only Labour is on the side of ordinary families. This Tory-led Government is letting down the people of Wythenshawe and Sale East – with higher energy costs, frozen wages and an A&E department in Wythenshawe that is under strain.

“Labour will stand up for the people of Wythenshawe and Sale East. I will be out and about talking to people about our plans to tackle the cost-of-living crisis and defend the NHS. I am on your side.”
