THE Best Western Cresta Court, in Altrincham, has joined forces with Messenger to launch a photographic gallery that celebrates our readers’ most important moments from the past four decades.

The hotel is to create a gallery of iconic photographs which tell the story of Altrincham communities over the past 40 years.

Photographs supplied by local people will be displayed for six months, taking pride of place in the hotel’s newly refurbished reception.

Both the hotel and Messenger celebrate their 40th anniversary this year and hotel manager Paul Hindley said: “We want to mark 40 years in the heart of the Altrincham community and so are asking local people to send in photos that show important events in their lives during that period.

"It could be weddings, parties, new homes, or new children – any important events from the past 40 years

“Or perhaps you have taken a photograph of a key moment in local history, an important architectural feature, or maybe a local celebration of a special day such as a Jubilee or royal wedding. The choice is down to the readers!”

A selection of the best photographs will be chosen by Messenger editor, Keith Morris, and curated into a special free gallery, with owners and a guest invited to a VIP launch event at the hotel on February 25.

Photographs, either prints or digital images, should be sent to The Editor, Messenger Newspapers, Alexander House, 94 Talbot Road, Old Trafford, Stretford, M16 0PG, or by email to sam.editorial@messengergrp.co.uk, along with up to 100 words explaining what they show, and why it was such an important moment, as well as the sender’s name and contact details.

The closing date for entries is February 7.

The Best Western Cresta Court is marking its 40th year with a series of events that celebrate the completion of its refurbishments.
