Northern Rail gets set for icy winter weather
NORTHERN Rail is gearing up for the colder weather about to hit the UK.
More than1,000 tonnes of rock salt have been distributed across the network and statition’ staff have received thousands of winter woollies to keep them warm.
The trains themselves have all had heating systems checked and essential winter kits provided.
Employers have undergone addition training to ensure they are fully up to speed on how to keep the services as robust as possible during the winter spell.
Northern Rail’s Twitter team has also been increased to ensure customers are kept informed regarding weather and travel updates.
