A SALE man went on a £350 wrecking spree after moaning about his brother wearing one of his t-shirts.

Lee Hevingham, 28, began by smashing several bottles of beer at his parents’ home in Wythenshawe.

Told to get out, he thumped his dad in the face causing a one inch cut.
He then used his fist to destroy the family car’s windscreen and kitchen window.

At Manchester City Magistrates’ Court, Hevingham of Thelwell Road, Sale, pleaded guilty to charges of common assault and damage.

He was bailed until January 28 for reports.

Prosecutor Shilpa Chauhan said Hevingham had been allowed to stay with his parents after his girlfriend threw him out four days before Christmas.

While having a drink he complained about his brother wearing his t-shirt.

He went ‘berserk’ when his parents told him: “That’s what brothers do”.

He threw several bottles of beer about the house before thumping his father in the face.

“Afterwards he attacked the car and kitchen window,” said Mrs Chauhan.

Jane Mellor, defending, said the family were anxious for a reconciliation but wanted their son to pay for the damage.

Adjourning the case District Judge Nicholas Sanders warned Hevingham: “What you did crossed the custody threshold, these are very serious matters.”
