PLANS for a blueprint to revitalise Altrincham have taken an important step forward.
The working group of the Altrincham Business Neighbourhood Forum has submitted its application to Trafford Council, to be recognised as the appropriate body to prepare a business neighbourhood plan for Altrincham Town Centre.
This would allow the forum to have a statutory say in how the area changes.
The 69-strong forum represents all aspects of business and residents in the town.
Tony Collier, the chairman of the neighbourhood shadow board, said: “We were delighted at the interest at our inaugural meeting in December and have worked extremely hard to agree a constitution, geographical boundary and time plan.
“Trafford will now consider our outline proposal and after six weeks of publicising our constitution and plan, will let us know if we have been accepted as the statutory group.”
The boundary chosen, which has been selected to include businesses and residents in or around the town centre, covers the vast majority of the town centre including the Old Market Place and the commercial area to the north.
