A TOP boss with Trafford Housing Trust donned a hard hat to work on site with Bolton-based national construction company Seddon, helping raise £500 for Children in Need.
Seddon sponsored Trafford Housing Trust assistant director regeneration Graeme Scott to work as a labourer for a day on one of its construction sites, earning £250 for the charity.
Seddon business unit manager Alan Taylor pitched in, too, with Seddon sponsoring him a further £250 to work alongside Graeme.
Graeme and Alan joined the company’s team on site at Ashford Walk, Bolton, where the company is building new houses for Bolton at Home. They helped with the work of erecting the timber frame roofs.
Graeme said: “Many people don’t realise that housing associations like Trafford Housing Trust and Bolton at Home build homes as well as manage them.
“It’s therefore been fantastic to be involved with Seddon and get a better understanding of construction first hand and raise money for charity in the process.”
Alan Taylor, of Seddon, said: “The team made us very welcome and we both enjoyed getting stuck in.
“It’s obviously great to have raised the money for such a worthwhile cause.”
As well as the £500 for Children in Need, Seddon presented Graeme Scott with a trophy to mark his time on site.
