PARTINGTON Parish Council received a boost to its seasonal festivities with a donation from two major construction companies that are working in the area.
Alstom and DF have donated £2,000 for the council to spend on its Christmas decorations and events for residents.
The consortium partners is in the process of building the new gas-powered Carrington power station and the companies plan to work closely with local communities during the construction phase.
Cllr James Clare, chairman of Partington Parish Council, said that the money was used to put up Christmas lights in the town centre and surrounding areas.
He said: “Once again we have been delighted at the level of commitment from Alstom and DF to support local good causes.”
There was also some money left over to fund the parish council’s annual Christmas dinner dance for senior residents and a children's party.
