MUSICAL pupils from St Antony’s Catholic College brought festive cheer to Christmas shoppers at the Urmston branch of Sainsbury’s.
The pre-Christmas carol concert raised more than £250 and the money raised will go to support local charities.
Mr Simms, head of music, was on hand to help the school choir and musicians entertain customers as they entered and exited the store.
One of the charities that will benefit from the concert is the Cornerstone Day Centre, which supports vulnerable and disadvantaged adults across Moss Side.
The charity is run by a small team of staff headed up by Sister Lucy Dunne and the day centre normally welcomes around 200 people through its doors each day.
St Antony’s College have supported Cornerstone for 10 years and their latest fundraising effort will provide turkeys, food and other goods to help feed over 150 people at the centre on Christmas Day.
