PUPILS from St Mary’s School in Davyhulme have raised £238 towards park improvements at Broadway Park in Urmston.
Headteacher Anita Fagan praised her industrious pupils. She said: “I am always so very proud of the children here at St Mary's. They have proved once again how proactive and industrious they can be.
They are always interested in issues affecting their local community and were very keen to be part of this important project to help improve Broadway Park.
As usual, the children came up with some very creative fundraising ideas to help raise money, including baking and selling their own delicious cakes.”
Cllr June Reilly, chairman of the Friends of Broadway Park said: “It is so encouraging to know that we have the backing of the local community, and in particular of the young people in our area.”
The children are pictured with Davyhulme councillors John Reilly and Lisa Cooke.
