IT was former care worker Katherine Wilkinson's turn to be looked after when Loreto Grammar School held their annual St. Vincent de Paul Society Christmas party for some of the older people from St Vincent’s Parish.

So popular among the schoolgirls is their annual St. Vincent de Paul festive celebration for older people that waitresses outnumbered guests with 120 girls turning up to serve the 40 diners.

Katherine said: “I come every year and enjoy it more and more every time. The girls could not be nicer or more helpful.”

Eleanor Maher said: “It's was wonderful to hear about life when they were teenagers and how the local area has changed so much.”

Loreto Grammar School's Lay Chaplain Sue Perkins, who organises the SVP party, said: “Our girls enjoy this event just as much as the older people and get so much from the experience by just listening to what the community's elders have to say about their lives and how much times have changed.”
