ASDA’s Trafford Park store has launched its Give a Gift at Christmas appeal, to support local charities nominated by customers.

Earlier this year, the store asked people to put forward charities supporting the themes of ‘kids’, ‘warmth’ and ‘food poverty’ and the chosen charities are Delamere Special Primary School, in Flixton; the local Salvation Army, in Stretford; and the Trafford South Foodbank.

In the run up to Christmas, customers can support the charities in two ways when they are shopping in-store: by depositing a token at the Community Life noticeboard – or by buying an extra gift in fitting with any of the themes of the charities and dropping it off at the collection point when they leave the store, after they have finished shopping.

Store manager, Jason Teens, said: “Christmas is one of our busiest times of year but the generosity of our colleagues and customers never ceases to amaze me. The nominated charities are all doing great work in our community and I hope we can raise not just funds for them, but donate gifts that will help make someone else’s Christmas that little bit better.”
