Loose Change join the 100 club - buskers smash fundraising target
CHRISTMAS came early for Altrincham’s Loose Change Buskers, with the group smashing its fundraising target for 2013 with two gigs to spare.
This brings to more than £100,000 the group has raised for Cancer Research UK in just three years.
But spokesman Bernard Dolan was quick to share the achievement with the people who have donated to this worthy cause.
He said: “We get lots of congratulations and pats on the back and really it’s the people who donate who should be getting the pats on the back. We do it because we love playing and it’s such a good cause.
“We’ve raised more than £50,000 just this year and it’s an amazing amount of money. The public are so generous it just blows me away. i just can’t thank them enough.”
Bernard said the musicians of Loose Change enjoy playing and have no intention of hanging up their instruments just yet.
He said a new fundraising target has been set for 2014 - he hopes the group can raise £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
