A CHILDREN’S charity has raised more than £100,000 with a glamorous Motown-themed evening of music and prizes.

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) held its annual ball to raise money for children who are in desperate need of love or support.

Founded in 1985, CAFT provides a variety of programmes and holiday activities for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.

Guests were treated to a luxurious, four-course meal with a grand auction, special raffles and the chance to win some spectacular prizes.

A few of the experiences up for grabs included holidays to Mauritius, Grenada and the Maldives, tickets to the women’s quarter finals day at Wimbledon and VIP tickets to see Gary Barlow.

Prizes were donated from a number of businesses and organisations in the area including Hotel Chocolat, Randalls of Altrincham and The Redwing Trust.

Among the guests at the charity gala was the multiple gold medallist Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey, who is a patron of the charity alongside her husband and fellow Paralympian Barney Storey.

Also in attendance were CAFT patrons and former Coronation Street actors Lee Boardman and Jennifer James.

CAFT events fundraiser Pippa Watton praised the generous contributions given by supporters on the night.

She said: “We really can’t thank our supporters enough for everything they continue to do for us. This has been a fabulous evening and we’ve been blown away by their generosity. Everyone had a fantastic time while raising vital funds for our charity. The money we have raised tonight will change the lives of countless children in 2014.”
