ALTRINCHAM Forward has invited members of the public to join them for an afternoon of Christmas cheer on Saturday, December 21, between 3.30pm and 4.30pm at Goose Green.

Organisers hope those attending will be transported to a bygone era with this very special festive event, where people can sing along to a mix of old and new Christmas carols, performed by the 3rd Davyhulme Scout and Guide Band.

Local businesses will also be on hand offering drinks and tasty snacks, including newly opened Café Cleo who will be serving a white Christmas hot chocolate and satay skewers.

Visitors will be urged  to treat themselves to a Christmas tipple from Lounge Ceol who will be serving hot brandy, mulled wine and mince pies to get them into the festive spirit.

La Piazza will also be offering hot, spiced apple juice, warming amaretto hot chocolate and tasty sausage and caramelised onion sandwiches from their frontage at 9 Goose Green.

Altrincham town centre manager Paul Armstrong said: “There is nothing quite like Christmas carols to get you into the festive season.

“The public have really embraced our Christmas events here in Altrincham and I hope they can join us as we celebrate all that is great about Christmas. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their singing ability!”

Song sheets will be provided on the day and Goose Green will be closed to traffic during the event.
