THE NSPCC is calling on Trafford residents to sign up to the Manchester United Santa Run.


Taking place around the Old Trafford stadium on Sunday December 15, there will be a 2k family fun run from 12.30pm and a 5k serious Santa fun at 11.30pm and the children's charity are looking for people to join the festive fun, don their best Santa suit and help raise funds to support the charity's work.


Deborah Sefton, NSPCC community fundraising manager for Manchester, said: “Grab your running shoes and join hundreds of other runners racing around the famous Old Trafford stadium to help us raise funds to support the NSPCC's valuable services that protect vulnerable children across the Devon and around the UK.


“On the day there will be plenty of festive fun for the whole family. All runners dressed up as Santa or in fancy dress have the chance of winning an exclusively signed Manchester United items.


“Prizes will also be available for the best dressed child and best dressed adult.”


Entry to the run is £10 per person, £5 for children or £20 for families. Entries include a Santa hat for children or a full suit for adults, plus all runners will receive a medal.
