BBC Radio Manchester will be broadcasting live from Eden Square, Urmston, tomorrow.

On Tuesday December 17, Urmston-born presenter Phil Trow hosting his homecoming show.


Phil, whose family home used to be where Eden Square is now situated, will be hosting a digital surgery for smart phones and tablets to help any visitors with tech problems or questions.


The event, which was organised in conjunction with Urmston Partnership, is in aid of the radio station’s Christie appeal.


The ‘Radio Bus’ will be on site from 9am, when visitors will be able to meet the BBC Radio Manchester team and board the bus to record a Christmas message for broadcast on the radio, market stalls which have been ‘specially added on-site’ will also be available.


The show will be broadcast 3pm-6pm.


"I'm very much looking forward to broadcasting live in the town of my birth,” said Phil.


“My family still live in Urmston and I'm a frequent visitor. Please come along and say hello."


Leon Guyett, development director at Ask Developments, the developers behind Eden Square, said: “We’re excited to have BBC Radio Manchester broadcasting live from the square especially as it will feature presenter Phil Trow, a local lad born and raised in Urmston."
