STRETFORD shoppers donated a huge amount of food to Stretford foodbank.
A small army of volunteers, including members of staff from Tesco Metro at Stretford Mall, gave their time to make the supermarket collection - on November 29, 30 and December 1 - a great success.
Stretford foodbank manager, Paul Guest, said: “I was amazed at how generous some people were, literally coming up to us in the supermarket with trolleys full of food for the collection.”
Last year Stretford foodbank collected a staggering three tonnes of food, which helped them set up the operation in Stretford.
