Machete-wielding robbers steal cigarettes from Flixton convenience store
A MACHETE-wielding robber burst into a Flixton convenience store and stole a large amount of cigarettes.
The man, accompanied by two other masked offenders, robbed the store at around 6.50pm on Wednesday, October 30.
The three entered Martin Mcolls, on Flixton Road, carrying dust bins.
The offender carrying the machete approached a member of staff and told her ‘I'm not going to hurt you’, before standing next to her while the other two loaded the bins with cigarettes.
The offenders then left the store in the direction of Trevor Road.
One of the offenders is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, aged late teens or early 20s, of slim build with blue eyes and was wearing a balaclava covering his face.
He wore black tracksuit bottoms and a black top and he was carrying a machete.
The other two men are described as medium build and were wearing black clothing and balaclavas.
Det Insp Frank Morris, from North Trafford INPT, said: "Thankfully no-one was injured but when you are confronted by masked robbers no-one can be sure of their intentions and the upset these men have caused the member of staff means we need to identify them and arrest them as quickly as possible.
"I want to assure people, particularly businesses who may be concerned, that we will carry out a thorough investigation to trace those responsible and there will be an increased police presence in the area.
"Also, I would ask people to be on their guard and if they are offered cheap cigarettes, then these could be the cigarettes stolen so please call police immediately and help us bring these men to justice."
