Deadline for MP's Christmas card competition looming
KATE Green, MP for Stretford and Urmston has extended the deadline for her annual Christmas card competition, which she is hosting with support from Cargill PLC and Messenger.
Ms Green has written to every school in her constituency, inviting their pupils to take part and has extended the deadline to make sure that all schools have the chance to enter before breaking up for half term.
The new deadline for entries to the competition is Friday October 25.
The winning design will appear on the front of the Christmas card the MP will send to her constituents this year. Designs by the four runners up will be printed inside the card.
Ms Green said: “Last year I received more than 500 entries from schools around the constituency.
“I was really impressed with the range of creative designs submitted and extending the deadline this year will mean that as many young people as possible have the chance to take part.”
The shadow spokesperson for disabled people plans to send the card out to hundreds of businesses, voluntary and community groups, faith groups, and schools across the borough and beyond.
Ms Green will also send certificates to each pupil who takes part and the overall winner will also receive a small prize and certificate.
• Any child or young person living in Ms Green’s constituency is welcome to take part.
Entries should be sent to Morris Hall, 9 Atkinson Road, Urmston, M41 9AD or via email to email@example.com by October 25.
