MESSENGER backed charity Hearts and Minds Challenge, based in Sale, has organised a star studded ball hosted by one of football’s greatest names.
Trafford people are being invited to join Manchester United legend Paul Scholes to help an appeal to raise £1m to build a school for children with autism.
A Las Vegas themed event will take place in the plush surroundings of Manchester’s Hilton Hotel on November 9.
Cast members from Coronation Street and the reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex are already on the guest list and live entertainment will be provided by Cleo Higgins.
A former member of 90s girl group Cleopatra, Cleo said: “I have seen the difference Hearts and Minds Challenge are making in both parents and children’s lives and I wanted to be part of it and help in any way I could. Let’s hope we can make a difference.”
Guests will also be treated to a three course meal and the chance to bid for items in a charity auction.
Brave Cheryl Broadfoot, the mum of a seven year old boy with autism, will be having her hair shaved off on stage by former England footballer John Fashanu, who has just become an ambassador for the charity.
Cheryl, whose son Bobby hasn’t spoken for three years as a result of autism, has hair down to her waist and is hoping people will dig deep.
* A few tickets remain for the Vegas ball and anyone interested in booking them should call Ian McGrath on 07540 558 788.
