Gun pointed woman during violent robbery at her Urmston home
INTRUDERS pointed a gun at an Urmston woman and forced her husband to hand over his £6,500 watch during a violent robbery at their Urmston home.
The robbery took place at around 9pm on September 16 at the couples’ Brooklyn Avenue home.
Three men approached the house and rattled the letterbox, the female occupant opened the door and immediately shut it again upon seeing a man with his face covered.
The robbers kicked and hit the door, causing the glass to smash and then pointed a gun at her.
The woman's husband came downstairs and one of the offenders shouted for him to hand over his watch which he did. The offenders then took the watch and left.
The woman was cut by the broken glass and suffered a minor injury.
The watch is an Omega Aqua Terror GMT and is valued at around £6,500.
It is stainless steel with a black face and has small markings on the face instead of numbers, the letters 'GMT' are in red on the face of the watch.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Det Con Lee Attenborough said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the couple whose children were in house when it happened.
"We have released a photo of the watch in the case that the offenders attempt to sell it. If you are offered a watch matching this description please contact police.
