Altrincham man jailed for abusing neighbourhood wardens
8:00am Monday 23rd September 2013 in News
AN Altrincham man who hurled vile abuse at two neighbourhood wardens in Wythenshawe was locked up for 14 days at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court.
District Judge Jonathon Finestein told 29-year-old Lee Walker: “This was grossly offensive behaviour and totally unprovoked.
“In my court custody will always follow when wardens are treated in this way. What happened was disgusting and they must be protected”.
Walker, of Woodfield Road, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour on June 25.
Prosecutor Subhanur Chowdhury said the wardens were on patrol when their path was blocked by Walker’s parked car.
Walker refused to move and said: “I am not moving for you lot, you are just a bunch of grasses and nonces”.
Afterwards he left his car and began shouting abuse.
