A TEENAGER is in a critical condition after a bus and car crashed into each other in Altrincham.
Police were called to Oldfield Road at around 9.45pm last night, September 12, following reports of a collision between a single decker bus and a Vauxhall Corsa.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition is described as being critical but stable.
An off-duty nurse saw the incident and came to the aid of the teenager before emergency services arrived.
Firefighters at the scene say her actions helped to save his life.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) also praised the actions of a basics mobile doctor, who also stopped to help.
Two women in the car and the bus driver suffered minor injuries.
it is thought that the road reopened in the early hours of the morning.
