Lost love bird takes up residence in Altrincham garden
10:18am Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
A BIRD of paradise has made itself resident of an Altrincham garden.
The love bird appeared in a garden on Oldfield Road on Monday, leaving residents mystified as to where it came from.
The resident said: “It’s beautiful, it’s got a green and orange face and blue tail feathers. It just came out of nowhere, my husband said to me ‘what’s that whistling?’ and we looked out of the window and there it was.”
The couple and their family have tried to trace the owner of the mysterious bird, but have been unable to so far and if no one comes forward by tomorrow, Friday, it will be given away to a contact who has an aviary.
“It was singing away when it first got here but it’s not as bright now, we’re feeding it obviously, but it’s a warm weather bird and it needs to be inside,” the resident added.
