BIG fundraising efforts deserve a big cheque - and that’s exactly what Old Trafford-based charity Henshaws received, following a year of cash-generating activities from Trafford Housing Trust.
The housing trust’s staff have spent the past 12 months raising money for Henshaws, which provides help for anyone affected by sight loss.
Staff at the housing provider took part in a wide range of fundraising events, including a 10km run, staff raffle, office dress down days and a charity car wash.
More than £2,700 was raised for the charity, which relies on donations in order to deliver its vital work.
Larry Gold, director of finance and support for Trafford Housing Trust said: “Henshaws is a fantastic, locally based charity which does vital work with people affected by sight loss.
“They have been our designated charity for the 2012/13 financial year, and staff have really enjoyed pitching in to swell the organisation’s coffers.
“It’s been brilliant to work with Henshaws staff, and find out more about their life-changing projects.”
Louisa Walmsley, corporate relationships officer for Henshaws said: “Trafford Housing Trust has got involved in Henshaws on every level – from fundraising activities to helping us promote our new services.
“They have been a fantastic partner, and we’re incredibly appreciative of their support, as are our many service users.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with the trust in the future.”
