THE students of Altrincham Grammar School for Girls have done it again.  Last week the school was proud to publish its remarkable A-level results, but today it can reveal that its GCSE students have also been outstandingly successful.

An astonishing 98 per cent of examinations taken were graded from A*-B,   85 per cent were graded A*-A  and  51 per cent were graded A*.


100 per cent of students gained the national ‘gold standard’ of at least 5 subjects at A*-C, including English and Mathematics, and 100 per cent of pupils who took the English Baccalaureate were successful.


There were many individual causes for celebration, including  11 girls who  passed at least nine subjects at A*:  Sunya Aslam, Holly Baines, Jessica Baxter-Brown, Amy Carter, Helen Llambias-Maw, Sanjana Mathew, Miranda Stoner, Sophie Stubbs, Victoria Tavernor, Eleanor Vickers, Yulia Volkovaya.


Mary Speakman, headteacher of Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, said: “We are so proud of our students; they have worked really hard and thoroughly deserve these wonderful results which position us as one of the highest performing schools in the country. 

"The staff and governors send their warmest congratulations to the girls.”
