The One Show comes to Altrincham

Altrincham Forward was delighted to welcome The One Show and presenter Angela Rippon to the town centre on Friday 15th March.


The popular primetime BBC show interviewed several of Altrincham’s small businesses, a representative of the Retailers Forum and an Altrincham Forward meeting at the Town Hall.


Cllr. Matt Colledge, Chair of Altrincham Forward said: “We were delighted to be approached by The One Show as an example of a place that is positively addressing the challenges facing town centres.

"I know the show considered other locations and their decision to film here is a reflection of the hard work being done by all involved in Altrincham Forward, including our growing range of fantastic independent businesses.”


The Altrincham feature is likely to be broadcast on 26 March.

Very positive feature starts 4'15". Pity it wasn't brighter for filming, but it was nice to get an article that didn't show endless empty shops, pound shops and charity shops. Highlighting the 10p parking charge was a big positive. When I was in town last October this was news to me as all I'd heard was that parking charges were too high.
