TWO people were injured in a car crash in Warburton early this morning.

At around 7am, ambulances and fire crews were called to the junction of Paddock Lane and Dunham Road, close to the Saracens Head pub.

There were reports that two cars had collided and that one of them was on fire.

Firefighters from Altrincham and Irlam fire stations cut a 42-year-old man out of one vehicle, he was given oxygen therapy treatment by fire service trauma technicians before being handed over to paramedics.

He was then taken to Trafford General Hospital.

The 45-year-old woman in the other car suffered a stomach and a wrist injury, she was treated by paramedics at the scene and was then taken to Wythenshawe Hospital.
