Outstanding Ofsted for Lime Tree Primary

LIME Tree Primary School in Sale Moor has been labelled “outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted, the government’s education inspectors.

The grading represents an improvement for the school, labelled as “good” when inspectors last visited in 2007.

Pupils were found to make “outstanding progress in reading, writing and mathematics.” and the school was praised for its “exciting and rich” curriculum.

Lime Tree’s board of governors were also praised for carrying out checks to ensure outstanding progress and all pupils make excellent progress.

Outside the classroom the school was praised for its wide-range of extra curricular actiivities and the way they make a “superb contribution to developing pupils’ excellent social, artistic and sporting skills.”

Headteacher Simon Beswick described the inspectors findings as a “tremendous achievement” for the school.

He added: “I am thrilled that the inspectors recognised not only the tireless hard work, commitment, dedication and diligent professionalism that are evident every day across school, but also the school’s individuality, creativity and forward thinking approach to education.”

Chairman of governors Denis Mallalieu said the school’s outstanding status has resulted in the demand for places outstripping supply.
