Family take on charity challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support
12:09pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in News
JULIAN and Pam Greenway of Sale Moor and their cousin, Callum from Colne, have set themselves a charity challenge.
They aim to cover 78.6 miles in aid of Macmillan in memory of Julian's mum, Val, who died of lung cancer in July 2012.
Julian' is tackling the Wilmslow half marathon on March 24 and the Manchester Marathon at the end of April.
Callum's goal is the Manchester Marathon and Pam's challenge was the Wilmslow half marathon - a total of 78.6 miles.
Unfortunately, due to a stress fracture in her heel, Pam can no longer run the 13.1 miles. But, undeterred, she has tasked herself to swim the distance instead - 840 lengths - in six stints.
