MEMBERS of environmental group Keep Trafford Green and Clean (KTGAC) held a ‘Clean up Flixton’ litter pick on Sunday afternoon (March 10).

The group met at The Bird I’th Hand pub on Flixton Road and spent an hour blitzing grotspots around William Wroe golf course.

The group is now appealing for people across Trafford to identify other litter-strewn areas that they can go and clean up.

KTGAC secretary Christine McLaughlin said: “There were eight people involved today - not a bad turnout considering it was Mother's Day and freezing! I think we filled seven bags in an hour!

“It's so important to keep on top of litter because it can be really dangerous for wildlife. This was our first litter pick but we plan to do them as often as people ask us to.”

The group’s next meeting will be at 7.30pm on Thursday April 25 at the Better Tuition Centre on Crofts Bank Road.

Everyone is invited to attend the meeting to discuss litter-prone areas, or the group can be contacted by email: info@keeptraffordgreenandclean.co.uk.
