Mary Berry kicks off Cake International show at EventCity

BAKING icon Mary Berry opened a Cake International event at EventCity on Friday.
The queen of puddings was joined by decorating expert Mich Turner at the sugarcraft, cake decorating and baking show, which took place from March 8 to 10.
The pair showcased their favourite recipes and cake decorating ideas, as well as answering questions from an army of fans.
The Great British Bake Off’s Berry also appeared at the show on Saturday, joined by Hale’s own and Sunday Brunch star, Simon Rimmer.
An estimated 18,000 people attended Manchester’s first large-scale cake show and over 80 exhibitors were present to show their wares.
A ‘baker’s dozen theatre’ was stationed at the event, where visitors were able to make use of equipment and ingredients and then take their culinary creations home.
Competition classes, demonstration theatres and workshops were also on show throughout the weekend.
