Competition success propels Flixton Band to the big league

FLIXTON Band who were promoted to the First Section in January after taking part in the Brass at the Guild Championships at the Guild Hall in Preston.
The ensemble beat off stiff competition to walk away with a prize from the event.
They are now tuning up for the National Brass Band Championships which is being held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
The band is also looking to the future and recently held its training band launch day which generated a great deal of interest from beginners.
